Talking Spellforce 2 & Artmoney

How To Hack Spellforce 2
I was rather annoyed that the game designers removed the console commands that existed in Spellforce 1 from Spellforce 2 and so went on a mission to hack into Spellforce to see what could be done by my own means. The results are plain to see.

<insert screengrabs here>

As you can see my character is level 3 yet has all the characteristics up to level 3 and still has hundreds more points to spend, which I PRESUME can only be spent after he has progressed to level 4.

What I gather Spellforce 2 does is only allow you to progress in the stats upto whatever level you currently are overall, in the case of the screenshots, Level 3. Upon getting more experience Im guessing those stats will go even higher, we will see as I progress through the game.

Anyways.. enough rambing. Onto HOW I did this!!

WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS!! IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW HOW TO HACK INTO SPELLFORCE AND EDIT YOUR AVATAR THEN STOP READING NOW!!!!

OK.. Thats that sorted. On with what I did, and believe me folks its EASY!!!

Programs used?

ArtMoney SE v7.18
Spellforce 2 (NO PATCH INSTALLED!!!)

Basically I started the game from scratch and then worked my way through and DIDNT level up my character. Then when you come to a giant Fire Spider just before the bridge where you meet the female dark elve you stop. Open up Artmoney and do a search for the value of 2 (Which is how many stat points you have available to spend on your character at this point) using 2 Byte and 4 Byte Integers. The results took a while to come up, and numbered over 800,000!!! Don't worry!! Then I jumped back to the game and simply moved a few items around in my inventory. Jumped back to Artmoney and then "filtered" again using the value of 2 as I had NOT spent the point on my character. Moving your avatars location a little may help aswell. I then got the number of codes down to just over 600!!! Then I moved items around again, filtered for 2 again.. etc etc.. then I came to 10 results in the end. I then spent one of my points on a characteristic and jumped back to Artmoney and filtered to 1. Then back to game and spent my last point, jumped back to Artmoney and filtered for 0. Results = 1 YAY!!!! RESULT!!!

I then selected that value and moved it into the right hand columb. I changed the value to 999 and then jumped back to Spellforce. If you look at your characters points they can spend they HAVE NOT CHANGED!! Thats ok!! Close down the inventory then open it back up again. Eh VOILA!! 999 points to spend on your character!!

Something ealse I noticed... Even after spending these points to level my character up to level 3 on all attributes in Artmoney the value was still 999... curious I thought. HOWEVER if you add up the values of SPENT points and remaining points then THAT is the number shown in Artmoney.

MONEY!!!
I also hacked the money with even greater ease!!

Program used?
Generic Game Trainer V1.61 (Jacob Zielinski - www3.telus.net/jz/)

Yeh some old generic game trainer I had from ages ago (2002) *shrugs* I guess Artmoney would do the job aswell, but I used a generic Game trainer (The one that has an icon of the "Spy Vs Spy", black with a red face).

I worked my way through the game until I came to the part of the game where you reach the first city.. well.. the first city with merchants in it, just after you collapsed the mountain (If anyone thinks im spiling the story we are talkin after 20mins of gameplay, and map number 3.. I think.. or 4 *shrugs* hardly deep into the game!!). Anyways... sell a few items until you have around 147 coins *shrugs* a nice random number like that helps actually, dont want whole numbers like 100 or 10 etc etc etc.

Then jump to the game trainer and search for that cash value. Jump to spellforce and sell another item (Dont worry your about to buy all your stuff back and have TONS of cash to boot!!). Then jump back to the trainer and search for the new cash value you have. Keep jumping back and forth between trainer and the game buying and selling until you cut the number of results down significantly. Then when you found the code then change your cash value to whatever you want. 5,999,999 works nicely.

Remember though that like the previous game all these codes you have searched for CHANGE every time you reload a game or change map etc etc.

OK.. So now we have a character with TONS of cash and tons of stats points to spend. My next task is going to be hacking experience/level so we can get the characters strength etc etc etc up and also item hacking..lets give our character some nice plate mail eh? I will keep you posted

If anyone wants a copy of my game save then no probs

Do these effects to your avatar remain permanent, and can you do the same thing in Free game mode to alter perhaps your pvp char?
Only curious as to whether I should bother at all with the PvP aspect of this game if these hacks are options?
I can see tons of fun during the campaign with them though... Very cool there.

Yes the effects are permanent. I even closed the game down and reboot my pc. When I reloaded my game save the stats were kept as was the money

The only thing is the codes change from map to map so if you want to hack it you have to do it on the same map without using load function. I reccmond the first level. In the first level if you start it with TURORIAL OFF and set all your characters so they are NOT automatically levelled then by the time you reach the bridge just before meeting "Nightsong" you have 2 points to spend on your main avatars attributes. This is plenty to hack his stats. After you have levelled up your main character then DONT level up your other 2 characters. Then when they get 2 points to spend search for the values the same was as you did your main avatar. Now all 3 of my avatars are fully maxed out

I still gota find the items ID's tho.. see what ID's are what so I can start giving my character some nice armor and weapons

Yeh these hacks can be used in the Free Game Mode of the game. However I havent tried on multiplayer, and strongly suggest you dont try. Cheating against the computer is one thing but cheating against other gamers is just wrong. If you cheat against someone ealse then they will cheat back and then you cheat more etc etc etc... then its not a case of who is the better gamer but who is the biggest cheater.. id rather play a game properly.

Im just hacking my way through spellforce2 because iv got a backlog of games I havent played yet and should really get on with playing them ROFL

Artmoney and Spellforce 2

You will have to please forgive me for being so lame. I have not been able to do the Artmoney and spellforce 2 per your instructions. Do you think that you could be more detail in your explanation of how to edit your characters. Thanks

Well I have been doing alot of item hacking and looking for item ID codes and I have come up with quite a few codes, but its by no means complete, I still have them all in a TXT file... best format would be an XML document, I will do that later tho.

I am going to search for a few more items and then I will post the list I have gathered of item ID's so far

So tomorrow I will post a list of the ID's for the weapons and armor etc etc

I have been messing about with the item hacking in Spellforce 2 just to see what items are available in the game. As there are MANY items I obviously have not listed them all, however I will update this list as I work my way through the games items.

I came accross a post:
http://spellforce.com">

I was curious why that member hadn't posted a list of the items he has found so far so figured I would do it instead. Like i said I will keep updating this list as I go on.

Incase anyone is wondering I use the "Artmoney SE v7.18" memory editor. I havent got the PRO version, just the standard version you can download from their site for free I would like the PRO version but i refuse to buy things online, I just dont trust sending my credit card details over the internet, I dont care how safe people say it is.

Note: On searching through the items you will notice some of the items have "BUG" next to them. Thats because in the inventory the icon is replaced with an icon of a bug with BUG written on it. I havent tried equipping these items so don't know how it will effect the game so use at your own risk.

Thumbs Up Thanks ENightMare

I just wanted to say thanks for all the hard work you did on listing the items. I just finished the game but I enjoyed the game so much I will probably re-play it with all the neat cheat items that you came up with. If you run into any problems in the game please feel free to write me -- I will help in any way I can.

Thanks!!!

easy way to compile a list. just shove a bunch of them in your player init section of a map's lua file. A simple map can load you up with multiples of every item, set you to level 30 instantly, give masive amounts of gold, and complete all the quests in the game just by entering it once.

looking through those .pak files for Valid ItemIds and then shoving them in a test map lua is the easiest way to do it. textpad can automate it a bit.

245/246 - adamantite/iridium ore (non-perfect).

I'll shove up a list of valid ItemIds (unlabeled) up here once textpad finishes searching the paks and i've regex'd the results into something useable.

remember that generic (prefix/suffix - ie SILVER ring OF THE MOON) items are handled differently and instead of just having an ItemId, they have a PrefixId, SuffixId, and Level attribute as well.... generics can also have variable pre/suf/lev attributes too.

here's every item that's checked for or specificly mentioned in the maps/paks that came with SF2 (inc. patch 1.02)

update: combined the lists, here's the key:
"ItemId = " - a .lua file include in SF2 1.00-1.02 has a check or mentions the ItemId
"ItemId---" - same as above, but added EN's info for the ItemId
"******---" - ItemId is NOT mentioned in a .lua, but EN had info on it

Initial Generic Item testing... I don't know if this item list is completely different than the other item list, but here's a start

ItemID/PrefixID/SuffixID
172/20/20 - Regular Bastilla (Damage: 22.6-52.8 * Level, Speed: 2.5, Ranged 5-20, DPS: 15.08 * Level) of Frozen Wrath (+1 Ice Damage * Level, DPS: (1 * Level)/Speed)

update: generic items use a COMPLETELY different item list.

Lists.....

For as far as I know you have at least 3 lists of different IDs. The Equipment List, Misc List and Generic List.

Luckily I could find some IDs in the editor.

<insert screengrabs here>

COOL can i get saved game please
pm or kirkmadman@hotmail.com

thanks heaps

search time?

how long does it normally take to find the correct address using artmoney? I started searching yesterday afternoon, took a break for the night and am still searching this morning, 1 1/2 hours later, and I'm only down from 800,000 addresses to 708,648

Oso
one other thing

does anyone know where I can get Generic Game Trainer V1.61 (Jacob Zielinski - www3.telus.net/jz/)?

the address that was given is gone, all I get is a page not found
